Service Description
Ayurveda is the oldest surviving system of healing. As a sister science to Yoga, Ayurveda offers a nurturing approach to being healthy. There are six tastes or Rasas in Ayurveda (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent). Ayurveda belief is to add all six tastes in your meals, while adjusting them to suit your personal constitution. Learning how to do this will help you maintain balanced nutrition and overall good health. This series of workshops are virtual sessions streamed live via Zoom and are designed to teach you how to cook the Ayurvedic way. Melody will introduce the six tastes by preparing Ayurvedic meals live during each workshop. A list of ingredients will be provided to students ahead of the workshop so that we can prepare meals together. Each series will focus on particular Rasas and amounts to balance the doshas. Each class is designed to be independent of the others so students can join anytime during the series. The workshops are limited engagements only (not taught every week). Topics will be announced periodically. Pre-registration is required. CDC and NYC COVID-19 guidelines will be adhered to as applicable when workshops are held in the studio.
