Meditation Class

MEDITATION

&

MINDFULNESS

Teach your mind to be present and learn to meditate through this comprehensive, yet easy class. Learn to be free from distraction or judgment and bring awareness to the present.  It is particularly helpful to those faced with challenging circumstances or difficult situations, allowing you to make better choices when faced with stress.

According to a Harvard University study, ...generalized neuro-imaging studies found that eight weeks of mindfulness meditation changes the brain, rewiring the brain towards more positive thoughts and emotions.  It can decrease neurological connections to the medial prefrontal cortex, diminishing traits such as fear, stress, and anxiety.  People who incorporate it into their lives often report heightened levels of happiness, patience, acceptance, and compassion, as well as lower levels of stress, frustration, and sadness.

AYURVEDA

Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems. It is yoga's sister science. In Ayurveda, our health is defined as a dynamic state of balance between mind, body, and environment. The three-dynamic energy / mind-body types are referred to as Doshas. The Doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—are derived from the five elements and express unique blends of physical, emotional, and mental characteristics.

Our health and wellness workshops teach you to achieve and maintain a vibrant and joyful state of health by identifying your Dosha and creating a lifestyle that supports your unique nature.

Vinyasa

VINYASA YOGA

Vinyasa flow is a series of movements each linked to another, which coordinates Prana (breath) and Asana (postures), creating a moving meditation. With its flowing movements and fast pace, Vinyasa builds heat in the body and stretches the muscles, increases cardiovascular health, reduces stress and anxiety, and has a tremendous effect on mental and physical energy. These classes promote natural weight loss, strengthen the cardiovascular system, increase endurance and agility, build stronger muscles, deepen flexibility, and create better focus and concentration.

THERAPEUTIC YOGA

Therapeutic Yoga is a comprehensive system utilizing gentle yoga, restorative yoga, breathing techniques, and mindfulness specifically designed to enhance the body's capacity to heal. By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, therapeutic yoga will result in deep healing and repair.

Classes are accessible to those recovering from an injury or illness, dealing with an autoimmune disorder, anxiety, depression, or experiencing balancing issues. Practitioners can use the addition of a chair for support.

Hatha Yoga

HATHA YOGA

A powerful tool for self-transformation, Hatha yoga is a series of individual postures, rather than flowing movements, which bring attention to our breath and helps us to find stillness within. Hatha is broken down as HA (Sun) and THA (Moon) energies. As a slower-paced practice, Hatha yoga creates alignment and balance thus uniting opposites. Hatha yoga classes promote musculoskeletal balance, deepens the lung capacity, improve posture, and reduce stress.

Above the Clouds
Testimonials

In September 2014, I had a bad fall at work and broke all the ribs on my left side. I fractured my back, my neck, and my eye socket. I had brain trauma and lost vision in my left eye and punctured my left lung. Besides the pain, I was also getting dizzy and had a loss of balance and my depth perception was off. I started yoga with Melody in Dec. (2014) and her classes and private lessons were invaluable. She helped me with my dizziness and balance, helped the pain in my ribs, helped build core strength and flexibility, and with my lung and breathing.  I would not be in the shape I am in today without her help. I highly recommend anyone who needs help healing from an injury to give her a call and use her knowledge to help your healing.
